A Spatially Explicit Crop Yield Model to Simulate Agricultural Productivity for Past Societies under Changing Environmental Conditions

چکیده
Most contemporary crop yield models focus on a small time window, operate plot location, or do not include the effects of changing environment, which makes it difficult to use these assess agricultural sustainability for past societies. In this study, adaptions were made agronomic AquaCrop model. This adapted model was ran cover last 4000 years simulate impact climate and land changes, as well soil dynamics, productivity winter wheat crops Mediterranean mountain environment in SW Turkey. has been spatially explicit, allows hydrological interactions between different landscape positions, whilst computational is kept limited by implementing parallelisation schemes supercomputer. The calibrated validated using information sampled during 2015 2016 harvest periods. Simulated yields show strong control precipitation, while changes thickness following erosion, lesser extent re-infiltration runoff along slope catena also have significant yield. latter especially important valleys, where water accumulate. results that export central valley strongly increased (up four times) deforestation resulting erosion hillslopes, turning into marsh rendering unsuitable cultivation.

متن کاملAgricultural productivity in past societies: Toward an empirically informed model for testing cultural evolutionary hypotheses
Agricultural productivity, and its variation in space and time, plays a fundamental role in many theories of human social evolution. However, we often lack systematic information about the productivity of past agricultural systems on a scale large enough to test these th...

متن کاملNovelty Detection under Changing Environmental Conditions
The primary objective of novelty detection is to examine a system’s dynamic response to determine if the system significantly deviates from an initial baseline condition. In reality, the system is often subject to changing environmental and operation conditions that affect its dynamic characteristics. Such variations include changes in loading, boundary conditions, temperature, and moisture. Mo...
متن کاملDITCH: a model to simulate field conditions in response to ditch levels managed for environmental aims
Wetland areas are frequently managed by manipulating the water levels in the surrounding ditches, with the aim of restoring or enhancing the wetness of the site, especially for the ecological requirements of some bird populations. The extent to which water tables in the centre of fields can be controlled by this action can be simulated through the use of a model, Drain Interaction with Channel ...
